Ulric served in the British Army and became a qualified mechanical and electrical engineer and during his work he became Treasurer of the Mechanical and Engineers Union. Ulric has spent a lifetime in public service, having been a councillor for 26 years before becoming an Alderman of the Borough of Northampton in 2013. He served as a Magistrate, before being elected to the Northamptonshire Police Committee and the St John’s Ambulance Board and was also a board member of the University of Northampton.
Ulric is now Deputy Chairman of the Sir Thomas White, Northampton Charity; serves on the Army Benevolent Fund Board, is the Chair of Northampton African Caribbean Association and currently Chairs mental health tribunals.
